News Update for all members
FPR was launched in 2015 with the intention of providing racing based on a level playing field for all competitors.
I started the Suzuki Bandit Challenge and FP1, 2 and 3 for the older Superbikes from the late 80’s and early 90’s.
The categories have provided a lot of fun for members over the years, as well as witnessing some of the closest racing! Well done to everyone who joined in - Champions, racers and families alike. You created a novel and successful club.
The ambition was to run the club for 10 years and see where we stood at the end of the first decade. And as our 9th year draws to a close, I am staggered by the events we have endured and our members commitment to keeping the club alive.
We have survived 2 years of Covid and lockdown, economic recession, war in nearby Europe, not to mention the English weather playing havoc – none of which were predictable in 2015!
Sadly however, the outlook remains unchanged as we see shrinking grids and people putting family first – it’s no secret that all the motorsports’ clubs are seeing reduced grids now and are having to react to a new way of life in order to keep racing alive.
So, with the above in mind, and other influencing factors including trying to find suitable clubs for FPR to race with in 2025, I have taken the decision to formally close FPR.
FPR will no longer exist and any memberships paid for 2025 will be refunded.
My thanks to all the competitors and champions – you have been truly incredible and a pleasure to support throughout our time.
My thanks also to NG Road Racing and its directors and officials both past and present, and to the supporting companies and individuals that provided photographic and race support facilities.
Thank you to all our sponsors who supported so generously.
In closing, my thanks again to everyone, Amanda and I wish you all every success for 2025 and beyond.
